The Shadows flow away from solid as the slanting light ebbs away; breaking the day. A star strewn rest stands guard and silver orb bobs in the midst creating half-life shadows within the greater dark. - - Babbling brook freed from harsh light's busyness now carries its own melody as if a thousand tiny bells gurgle happy in their own company. - - Bruised reed's scent now lingers no longer to be drowned out by the greening heat but now free to seep into frigid air. - - A mist gathers before sight The fox cries bloody murder, and for that missing beat the heart can glimpse its coming defeat. - With thanks, not this night

A midnight walk in the rain

Lumbering along in the dark, life drifts gently onto crown and burden weary shoulder: Small streams trickle down coat and pools emerge in valley folds of cloth. . . Wooden, many-fingered towers hold up the living ceiling and a great ocean collects at it's roots. Fluid life bathed in unearthly glow drips into and becomes one body; Rippling the surface, reaching shore incandescent, pushing flotsam from the heart, begging for a cleared tomorrow. . . A whispering wind guides that life onto careworn, crinkled eyes and beard-cloaked, cracking lips. The same lips smile acknowledgement of the gift And the whole person stands in the inspiring awe.

A waft of burnt out scent reminds me that death cometh. I look into the flame of the next and see myself frail and unsteadied; by the slightest breeze. I am reminded that you chose to speak in a still, small voice a tone that wouldn't blow the life out of me but would bend me toward everlasting fire. I; your smouldering wick you wouldn't snuff out. Guttering; you've held your breath in agony. Inflamed; you've soothed with a sigh As I blow out my lights tonight I wonder if that smoke scent of death is not just a reprieve, a rest for a new day and the chance to be alight once more.

Sweep me so, to tomorrow

Sweep me off my feet. Give me something to believe. Lead my tread down the cliffs, that slide to the sea of sorrow. It's been a long time since I I felt the salt sweep past chin and tumble onto breast. Grief has become the shadow of a lodestone. Losing none of it's mass and increasing in density as it sinks deeper into the inky mire of hurt within. SO point the way and off I'll fling flitting from the night as a moth to the light. Limerance: live life lively; take pictures of passing photons and break baked bread together. Lift wet wine that washes and paddling; pull, push positively towards the theo-all; thus thanking tomorrow.

You say you aren't perfect, but look again and behold yourself; perfectly you. Your tears be heavy-laden with guilt; also remember, they glisten with remorse. The sea water of the eye cleanses wounds old and leads life to the good vulnerability that teaches humility and belief. Singing; your voice awakens the dawn and dancing you set the moon. The storm

Red leaves fleeing trouble before the gust: like children playing tag. Tumbling to shelter under, or it is to the brick wall. Tears from heaven hit cheeks from the side, and lash down to toe: and the whole becomes a sea. I am swept away in it's fury: each wave crest seeks shores, and pours itself away; to abandon. Cherishing that kiss with earth. Fury must find it's rock; be diminished in ecstasy, and sink into nothing. Before turning into life.

I write poetry as a way to express myself. It often acts as therapy. Most of my poems are in some strange sense prayers in that I am opening my heart up and releasing a lot of stuff. I also want to get into photography and hope to blend the two disciplines but time will tell on that one. My photos are generally captures of situations, things that strike me as beautiful or that stand out for whatever reason.......

Mourn with me a while

Mourn with me brothers and sisters for my camera has sustained some major internal injury and it looks to be the end. I also have no spare money at the moment due to weddings and moving places etc for a new one so no new shots for a while. Mourn with me friends........

I have decided to fast for lent for the first time for numerous reasons. And as part of the fast I am giving up Deviant for the duration (though you do get sundays off from the fast). I hope conversely to take this time to write more and take more pictures and to be refreshed in many ways that will help my creativity.
